Insurance and risk management is embedded in Patrick’s DNA. Prior to joining McGowan, he spent thirteen years growing and leading a team of commercial insurance agents while helping his clients proactively manage their risk. Patrick is particularly skilled in real estate construction, municipal, cyber, and non-profit risk.

Patrick grew up surrounded by the insurance industry. His father and uncle started an independent agency in 1978 that he joined in 2004. He has been a whirlwind of insurance activity ever since. In the community, Patrick serves on the elder board of his church and is the Past President of the Insurance Board of Northern Ohio. He is an avid reader and is usually juggling three or four books at a time. Patrick lives with his wife in downtown Cleveland.

  • Crafted a project specific insurance program for billion dollar construction and
    redevelopment project designed to revitalize an aging urban landscape.
  • Created a wage and welfare bonding program for a regional labor union.
  • Negotiated insurance to enable an international contractor to build the tech infrastructure
    for a border security detection system in Northern Africa.
  • Managed the robotic engineering insurance program for a robotic space exploration mission.
  • Provided analysis and support in effective cyber risk management, including business continuity planning, for multiple firms with over one million customers.
  • Aided over forty business in navigating strategic acquisitions through his custom
    transactional risk management process.
